Why Is the HOA Silent on Actual Property Damage — While Calling Me a Vandal?
So here’s the irony: I got cops called on me for putting a few small holes with thumbtacks in the drywall after the bulletin boards were removed, and some blue painter’s tape. Seriously. For that. Meanwhile, somewhere between obsessively scrubbing sidewalk chalk and erasing tiny QR codes, thousands of dollars’ worth of decorative stone is getting damaged.
And guess what? I’ve complained about the damage — but the HOA’s reply? Crickets.
The chalk? Totally temporary and washable. California law even protects it. But apparently, scrubbing until the stone looks worse than the chalk is fine.
They accuse me of vandalism for harmless posts, yet real damage keeps happening… and no accountability.

Property damage photographed in front of 875 La Playa St appearing to be from use of abrasive / corrosive cleaners. The chalk message was washable and temporary, this destroyed stone could cost tens of thousands or may be permanent.
It’s not about property care anymore — it’s about control, obsession, and a desperate attempt to silence voices.
If destroying property to erase chalk is their idea of community upkeep, then maybe they should get a new hobby.
Ironically, when the HOA causes hundreds of dollars of damage to my vehicle they ghost me.
