Police Presence Over Sidewalk Chalk? An Incident Account
This post reflects my personal observations and perceptions from June 29, 2025. Interpretations such as “aggressive” or “confrontational” are my opinions based on what I witnessed and video I recorded. I cannot speak to the intentions or motivations of the other individual.
Imagine needing police backup—just to ask a question about missing bulletin boards, using nothing but sidewalk chalk.
That’s what happened this weekend—after an individual approached in what I perceived as an aggressive manner toward someone calmly documenting what they believed to be HOA issues.

The individual pictured was 🎥 captured on video moving quickly toward the camera holder multiple times 🎥.
In my view, this followed weeks of similar confrontations: June 18 (stood uncomfortably close) and June 24 (moved rapidly toward me in a stairwell). Once cameras started rolling, the person covered their face, consistent with someone who knows that what they are doing is wrong.
At one point there was unwanted physical contact (pushing me as I am running away, as I perceived it). The individual followed from the sidewalk area toward the Safeway parking lot. Police presence confirmed sidewalk chalking is not a crime—and it certainly does not warrant escalation.
The police were called.
Buyers were watching.
So were the neighbors.
Why is this HOA so afraid of a few flyers and a website?
You don’t need to take sides.
You just need to pay attention.
